ADDID ABABA, ETHIOPIA, november 20, 1997 : Polio striken Children get a second chance at the Sheshire Home for the physically handicaped children in Addis Ababa. Sheshire is a charitable organization that provides free surgery and rehabilitation to polio victims. It is a peaceful oasis where thousands of lifes have been turned around. Ethiopia is a very poor country living a precarious peace after 20 years of wars and famines. With its warm climate, poor sanitations and lack of basic health services, it is a fertile ground for polio transmition. In 2005, there were 20 comfirmed cases of polio in Ethiopia (Photo by Jean-Marc Giboux)
