DAMAN, NEPAL, DECEMBER 7, 1997 : Polio Immunization in the village of Daman, in the Himalayan foothills, during the National Immunization Days in Nepal. Daman is located on a 7600 feet ridge and serve as a center for many Magar and Gurung villages in the mountains . In Nepal, most people have to hike for hours, if not days to access basic health care. Poverty, isolation and lack of higiene make polio transmition possible.
