For the past 300 years the Nihangs, Holy warriors of Sikhism gather at the foothills of the Himalayas in Punjab to celebrate the Hola Mohalla, the creation of the Sikh Army by Guru Gobind Singh to defend the Sikh homeland from the invading Mughal armies. Dressed in their traditional blue colors, they arrive barring their weapons in Anandpur Sahib, demonstrating their prowess in martial arts and horse riding. Duels take place everywhere, while others prepare the 'Nectar', a cannabis-laced drink that they distribute freely. (Photo by Jean-Marc Giboux)
